Online Maps Updated – Sort Of

If you’re like me, you use online mapping sites to get directions. When giving directions out to delivery companies or service companies, it’s always a challenge to get them to deliver. UPS and FedEx now can find us. For a while, I found it easier to go to Ft. Worth or Arlington to pick up a package than to wait for re-deliverly. Until recently, Plum Creek did not appear on these search engines. Muscadine still does not. Yahoo and MapQuest seem to have a more recent picture than Google. About the only advice I have is to give directions from Rose Creek which can be found online.

Update: Google now seems to have very current imagery. The copyright date is 2011.

Yahoo! Maps – Phase II roads are paved.

Mapquest – Same as Yahoo!

Google Maps – No Phase I but the map overlay shows where the road should be.

DCCR Section 11 Notice

The Board of Directors has requested that notice be sent to all Owners regarding Section 11 of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (DCCR). Please be advised that pets must be kept inside a Unit (house), in a fenced area of a Lot, or on a leash. Pets should not be unrestricted (outside a fence or off-leash) at any time, whether on the Owner’s lot or elsewhere. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Proposed Amendment to DCCR

Attached is a Property Owner Consent to an amendment to our restrictions. It has two items. One is the storage of boats, trailers, etc that we discussed at the 2006 Annual Meeting in January. A show of hands at that meeting indicated that a majority of the members were in favor of the change. The second item is the addition of a statement to clarify that directional drilling from an offsite well is not prohibited. The drilling company has requested this clarification. You may have already been approached and asked to sign a document prepared by XTO/TSD, however this was not done in accordance with our restrictions.

If you agree with these amendments please sign, date and return to 7812 Rose Creek Ct, Burleson, Texas by Wednesday, November 15, 2006. You may also return it by fax to 817-473-4822 or by email if you have scanning capability (please be sure that it is in a format that can be readily opened such as pdf). You may call us at 817-473-4822 if you have questions.

You may also be wondering what is happening with the front gate issue. Rich found out from Johnson County that a replat (through the City of Fort Worth) will be required in order for a gate to be installed. We are currently trying to find out how this can be accomplished as the road north of the entry is not in our subdivision and a turnaround must be provided. These issues make it rather complicated.

Annual Meeting on 1-10-06

Thanks to everyone who came to the meeting and gave their input. We had 46 members in attendance. It was great to see everyone again as well as meet the “new” residents who have joined since last year. I’m looking forward to our next social so that I can spend time visiting with you instead of working! Copies of the minutes will be mailed to all owners along with the Notice of Assessment for 2006 which is your official notice to pony up (due date February 1, 2006). The Board of Directors met immediately afterwards and got the ball rolling on the issues which were brought up. We are working on setting up a password-protected area on the website to post minutes and other items for your convenience (and mine). –Missy

No Fireworks Allowed!

Due to the high winds and extremely dry conditions, Johnson County has banned all flying fireworks in an order dated December 12th, 2005.

No person may sell, detonate, ignite, or in an way use fireworks classified … as “skyrockets with sticks” and “missles with fins” in any portion of the unincorporated area of Johnson County.

You’ve probably heard in the news that Tarrant County has banned all fireworks and Johnson County has banned rockets/missiles (a copy of the order is attached). Due to extreme drought conditions and in conjunction with the request of the State Fire Marshall, it would be in the best interests of all lot owners to refrain from lighting fireworks of any type in the subdivision. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in this matter.
