Burning Daylight Vineyards Update

Update from Burning Daylight Vineyards (Dave and Missy Gudal):

It’s hard to believe another harvest season is here! The vines broke bud a little early this spring and grew like crazy with all the spring rains, we’ve certainly had our hands full keeping up with them. Fortunately the rains finally quit so we are able to control the water which means that the vines will spend energy on ripening their fruit and not on excessive new growth.

If you helped us pick the Cabernet Franc in 2014 you quite literally picked a winner – we are thrilled to report that in March it won a gold medal at the Texsom International Wine Awards in Dallas (formerly the Dallas Morning News competition) and in June it won a bronze medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition! Unfortunately it has sold out at Lost Oak Winery in Burleson, but if you are going to Fredericksburg they reportedly have it at 4.0 Cellars (see their website at fourpointwine.com). The 2015 Cabernet Franc has just been released for sale at Lost Oak Winery in Burleson (or at lostoakwinery.com) – we haven’t had a chance to get our hands on any yet :0 They also have our 2015 Sauvignon Blanc and Quartet – a fruitier white wine blend which has our Malvasia Bianca and Vermentino grapes in it – very similar to the Quintet from 2014.

Fireworks

Due to extreme drought conditions and input from concerned homeowners, the Board has determined it would be in the best interest of all lot owners to refrain from lighting fireworks of any type in the subdivision. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Tabby Named Gabby

I just wanted to ask the neighborhood to keep an eye open for our cat- She’s been missing since Thursday. Orange and white long haired tabby- named Gabby- if anyone has seen her please let us know!

3rd annual 4th of July Parade

Decorate your favorite person. Animal, Lawn mower, ATV, bike, wagon, etc.

This year we have a special guest of honor. Our own Wes Flores will serve as Grand Marshall after his recent return from Afghanistan.

Watermelon and drinks at the pavilion afterwards.

Dog problems

We have had problems in the past with people letting their dogs out to roam. Most have
stopped the practice but not all. We now have had a homeowner bitten by dogs owned in the
neighborhood. We will be talking with that homeowner.
All dog should be fenced or on a leash when walked.
It took several weeks for the person who was bitten to report the problem.
Please- if you are aware of any dangerous situation taking place in the neighborhood,
report the problem immediately so we can take action.
Any problems or concerns should be reported to: [email protected]
Thanks,
Michael Bubel

update on Lot 7 Block 2

The Board has considered the input received and has made a decision to not pursue any changes to the DCCR (Restrictions). Over 80% of the responses received were not in favor of changing the Restrictions to allow front access vehicle storage areas. Thank you to those who took the time to respond with your input. In order to change the Restrictions, 2/3 of the lot owners (a minimum of 28 owners) would have to sign the change. The DCCR states that the covenants are “for the benefit of all present and future owners of all Lots.” The proposed change would not be beneficial to the majority of the onwers but rather has the potential to be detrimental.

We have had this reviewed by an attorney, attached is his response. Also attached is a summary of the events regarding this lot.
